Spring Tour 2005 - Hawai'i:
During the Spring of 2005, the Bubs traveled on a 12 day Pacific
tour that took us back to California and, for the first time, to
the beautiful islands of Hawaii.
In Oakland/San Francisco we sang for alumni, schools, and
corporations, from venues such as the historic Broadway Studios
to Katias Russian Eatery. While in the city, we toured numerous
places such as Fisherman's Wharf, Alcatraz, Muir Woods, and
Lombard Street.
On Oahu, in Hawaii, the beautiful scenery and warm climate
made for an exciting and memorable trip. We started early in the
week with a barbeque by our hosts the Savini's, and later had a
bonfire on Kawela Bay. Mornings often consisted of swimming or
kayaking, and the afternoon was filled with gigs such as with
Bringham Young University - Hawaii's Mens Choir.
In Honolulu, we stayed at the popular Hilton Hawaiian Village
resort. Mornings consisted of basking by the pool, or singing
for the media at KSSK Radio and Fox News. Afternoons were spent
on Waikiki Strip or catching some air jet skiing and parasailing
at Kawelo Basin. Evenings were diverse. One night we sang at the
State Capitol with our guests the Pacific Trades and Island
Fever. Our last night consisted of a sunset cruise, followed by
a private concert on Waikiki Beach.
